Iowa Taxpayers Forcibly Removed State House During Tax Debate

Iowa's House of Representatives had a public hearing to debate changes to the state's income tax system. The Democrat House Speaker Pat Murphy, cleared the chamber after several outbursts from the crowd.

The proposal being debated, House File 807 and Senate Study Bill 1317, would disallow the current practice of deducting federal income tax payments when figuring what families would pay in state income taxes. The proposal would effectively raise taxes on almost every family in Iowa, hurt small businesses, and could result in thousands of jobs lost. Clearly the people of Iowa are outraged.

But the chambers were cleared after the speaker called in state law enforcement officers to escort the large crowd from the chambers.

Here is the video of the incident.
