Uh Oh. Obama Approval Rating Only 11 Points Higher Than Bush's During His Final Week

During the final week of his presidency, George W. Bush's approval rating was at 35%. Remember, this was after the collapse of the economy and after conservatives began to waiver in their support because of the $700 billion bailouts last fall.

In contrast, today, Barack Obama has gotten everything his party has wanted: a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate (until Ted Kennedy's recent passing), an abysmal stimulus package, and the almost-assured passage of some kind of heath care reform in the near future.

And yet, Rasmussen reports that Obama's approval rating sits at 46%, a mere 11 points higher than Bush's final week.

To where have the faithful fled? Is it possible that universal health care is the flagship policy for many liberals and political kryptonite all rolled into one?
