Video: Inside the Cult of Obama

When liberals try to do religion they inevitably screw it up. I don't remember this one in the prayer book.

They should stick with what they know:
1) defending child rapists
2) killing the unborn
3) associating with anarchists

Flowchart: How To Keep You Doctor Under the Democrats' Health Plan

The Republicans in the senate released this easy-to-follow flow chart to explain how to keep your doctor under ObamaCare. It's really quite simple. The only way you keep your doctor is if you take him hostage and force him to treat you for food. Explain to him that he's either your hostage or that of the government, and he'll be sure to come around.

The image doesn't really do it justice. You need to check out the PDF of this baby and try to follow it.

Left-Wing Violence Reaches Boiling Point at G20

Yesterday a group of anti-capitalists joined forces to protest the G-20 summit in Pittsburgh, PA. The police broke them up because, here's a shock for you, the anarchists didn't have a permit! Well, the AP calls this "a group of anarchists," but we know who this really is and I think I can prove it. Just to get a feel for how this group approaches the art of protest, here's a description from the AP.

Protesters split into smaller groups. Some rolled large metal trash bins toward police, and a man in a black hooded sweat shirt threw rocks at a police car, breaking the front windshield. Protesters broke 10 windows in a few businesses, including a bank branch, a Boston Market restaurant and a BMW dealership, police said.
The AP concludes that the group is a collection of anarchists because they were holding anarchy symbols. However, if you saw a group of people holding signs that said, "No borders. No banks," "No Hope in Capitalism," and "Kick capitalism while it's down!" wouldn't you think this was either the Michael Moore fan club or a gathering from your local young Democrats club?

And who do we find at the protest?

Billy Talen - Where to start? I'll let his wiki page explain it to you if you're interested. If you want the twitter description: "A questionably insane liberal activist who uses often illegal public disturbances to get his message across."

T.J. Amick - This guy might actually be an anarchist. His facebook page says he like sour gummy bears, Adam Sandler, and he has the Ramen Noodles app installed. I think he showed up at the protest because he heard there was a 60% chance of weed.

The National Lawyers Guild - The article describes them as "a liberal legal-aid group," so I'm thinking they're probably not anarchists.

Stephon Boatwright - According to his Facebook page he is a fan of "The Socialist Party USA" (AKA unlikely an "anarchist"). I dare you to look at their website. Aside from the terrible layout and overuse of red, it could easily double as a website for a Democrat PAC. In case you were wondering, they do favor universal health care, which seems to be the opposite of anarchy, right?

So the tally at the end of the day is one socialist, one crazy person (counts as a liberal), one liberal legal defense group, and one normal-sounding dude (possibly an anarchist.)

So you're probably wondering how I could see this protest as a group of leftist radicals. You see, liberals are often found at events like this because they can rarely tell the difference between anarchy, socialism, and their own positions because the liberal position falls somewhere in the middle of socialism and anarchy.

Remember Amanda Duzak from just a few weeks ago? She's the environmental activist who challenged Michael Steele in order to promote universal medicine. Then her MySpace page had a picture of her holding an anarchy symbol at a protest.

The mind of a liberal is a sad and confused place.

Ed Shultz Loses Has Mind on MSNBC

To be fair, Ed's show is on MSNBC so fortunately for him nobody saw him go nuts.

Ed must be afraid his current insurance will not cover his ever-increasingly clogged arteries to cause him to say this:
"The Republicans lie! They want to see you dead! They’d rather make money off your dead corpse! They kinda like it when that woman has cancer and they don’t have anything for her…My God, Democrats, what’s wrong with you?! You can’t deal with these people, at all!"

A few weeks ago I was talking with a friend from Boston. (Don't tell anyone, but he's a conservative.) Anyway I asked him if the liberals up there really believe that conservatives oppose socialized medicine because they really believe we want people to die. Without an ounce of sarcasm, he replied, "Yes."

These are some messed-up times we're living in.

I invite any liberal to sit down over coffee with a conservative (we'll buy considering your lack of employment) and learn why conservatives believe what they believe.

Hint: it's not because we want poor people to die. Nothing could be further from the truth!

We want everyone to die equally.

First Lawsuit in ACORN Scandal Filed... Against the Filmmakers?

Via Politico
"ACORN filed suit today in Maryland against conservative filmmakers James O’Keefe, Hannah Giles and conservative Web site Breitbart.com for secretly taping the organization’s employees at its Baltimore office.

In the complaint, ACORN alleges that the filmmakers entered into the organization’s offices in July with a “hidden camera and microphone” and taped employees Tonja Thompson and Shera Williams. Both employees are listed as plaintiffs on the complaint, filed in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.

ACORN is seeking $500,000 for each employee and $1 million for the organization in damages."
The House and Senate have both voted to defund ACORN. The census has severed ties with ACORN over the scandal. Today the IRS cut ties with ACORN. And ACORN itself fired the workers named in the lawsuit when the videos were released.

Of course the first lawsuit filed in the case should be against those who exposed the money-launderers/sex-slave traders/extortionists/child abusers/tax-frauds.

Warning: "Tenthers" Abound

Along with "truthers" and "birthers" the newest fringe group to surface is the "tenthers."  This extremist group is easily associated with those who think the US Government arranged or allowed the murder of 3,000 Americans and those who believe Obama is not a natural-born citizen.

In fact, the only group that might be crazier than the "tenthers" might be the lunar landing hoax conspiracy theorists.

What is the conspiracy theory proposed by the "tenthers," you ask?

They are under the impression that an elite group of white men met in secret and put together secret government documents that limited the power of the federal government. They also believe this same group was instrumental in the development of state governments which hold the power not given to the federal government in these secret documents. Some of the conspiracy-minded websites even claim to have images of these secret documents along with the signatures of those white male elites on the actual documents.

The tenthers claim there is a "tenth amendment" in that document up there, but I don't see how anyone can read that faded old document. It could say anything! But those crazy tenthers believe in this stuff.

How sad.

Want to know more about "tentherism?" American Prospect has all the information any good supporter of the motherland would ever need.

Even Obama Thought "Yes we can" Was a Stupid Slogan

The drone-like chant echoed throughout the 2008 election season. "Yes we can. Yes we can. Yes we can." But the chant of the zobamabies was not Barack's idea. In fact, he hated the slogan.
Obama felt the catch phrase was "childish" and "corny," and even asked his staff to find something else - until his wife, Michelle, convinced him otherwise.

So it got me thinking about what some of the rejected slogans might have been.

"If Michelle ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."

"Peace, Land and Bread."

"Don't do it for me; do it for my girls, Sasha, Malia, and Maya."

"It's not communism; it's obamunism, baby!"

"Workers of the world, unite!" - (This was thrown out due to the overwhelming majority of Obama supporters being unemployed welfare recipients, college students, and pot-smokers.)

"What are you? Some kind of racist? Vote Obama!"

Do you have some others that were rejected? Share them in the comments below!

Video: Obama in 2007: Health Care Reform Will Rquire Tax Hikes

"We should push people on the idea of paying higher taxes."

Be sure to watch the whole video, otherwise you'll miss where he explains how the government can save money by delaying payments to doctors or by paying doctors less for their services.

So we can raise taxes, refuse to pay doctors or both.

Considering Obama's projected $9 trillion deficits, the smart money is on "both."

Steele Takes Race-baiting Liberals to Task

Republican Chairman Michael Steele answers the recent narrative that has broken forth from the liberal elites: "Conservatives are racists." We all know this is not a new narrative, but what is new is its coordination (or the reflection of the strength of the group-think created by the liberal echo chamber.) From former presidents to congressmen, to editorial writers for the New York Times, the conservatives-are-racist talk has become the sound bite du jour.

The only thing that's missing from this who discussion is a sound bite of Kanye West proclaiming that "Michael Steele hates black people."

(h/t: Radio Vice Online and Ace)

NPR: "Don't Blame ACORN's Workers. They're Just Poor Dumb Minorities From the Inner City"

Earlier I questioned how ACORN might spin the latest release of the video from their San Diego office. I forgot that they could just claim Juan Carlos is too dumb to understand that this is not a proper course of action. After all, he's only a minority. Oh wait Frank James at NPR already used that argument for them. Seriously.

"It's also important to keep in mind that ACORN's workers are coming from the same low-income neighborhoods the organization serves, with all that entails -- poor schools, high crime and the sorts of social problems that have been documented for decades.

So the flaws conservatives are pointing out about ACORN are not so much problems associated with that organization per se but more about the problems of being poor and minority in urban America."

So keep this in mind as you watch these videos in which poor minorities try to keep up with the evil white people. At least that's how the left has chosen to frame this.

And they have the nerve to call conservatives racist?

San Diego ACORN Video

This is now the fifth city to have ACORN offices where nobody seems all that concerned about importing some underage girls from El Salvador to be used as prostitutes in the States. In fact, this time Juan Carlos actually offers to help in the importation of this human cargo suggesting they come in through Tijuana because he "has contacts there."

How might ACORN try to spin this? "Oh he means he has prescription contact LENSES there in Tijuana that he needs to pick up. Silly conservatives."

Update: I forgot to include a link to the source of these videos. Check out BigGovernment.com.

Preview of Video 5 - San Diego ACORN Propositions the Undercover Prostitute this Time!

This is only a bit of the video from San Diego. BigGovernment.com was supposed to have it posted an hour ago, but here's a taste. When BigGovernment gets it posted, I'll link it.

It's only about a minute long, but in the last 12 seconds we have what could be considered a propositioning of services, although the dude quickly denies that's the case. Riiiight.

San Bernadino ACORN Office Part 3 - Set Up the Prostitution Ring as a Charity!

These are two videos released from BigGovernment.com. Be sure to watch the end of the second one where on top of everything else Tresa Kaelke claims she is willing to perjure herself.

By my count, this is the second time someone has suggested setting up the international underage sex brothel as a 501(c)(3) and calling it a school. Just so everyone understands 501(c)(3) is the tax code under which schools, charitable organizations, and churches operate which allows them to have tax-exempt status.

The suggestion may be understood as a form of legitimization or a front for the actual acts that are taking place within the house where the underage prostitution would be taking place. But compounded with that is the willful engagement in tax fraud through the use of the 501(c)(3) which would allow not only certain expenses by the group to be made tax-free, but would also open the possibility of tax-deductible contributions.

Update: It looks like they're releasing another video tonight at 9:00 EST. Rumor has it this one is from San Diego. Wow. Every single day is just... wow.

More Video from ACORN in San Bernadino. PLUS! Imaginary ACORN Job Interview!

Once again from BigGovernment.com

This video should be titled "How to Run a Sustainable Prostitution Business"

I'm trying to imagine the interview process to work for ACORN.
"Have you ever killed anyone?"

"Well, only my husband, but he had it coming to him."

"Okay. Okay. Who are your heroes?"

"Heidi Fleiss comes to mind. What a business model, am I right?"

"Hmm... Have you ever avoided paying taxes either for yourself or others?"

"I've never paid a dime because I know the tin-can-covered-by-grass-and-snow trick."

"One final question. This job may require some travel and time with kids. How do you feel about El Salvador and 13 year old girls?"

"I'm cool with that."

"Can you start on Monday?"

Breaking: ACORN Suspends Operations

ACORN announced a suspension of operations today after the release of four damaging videos that have been released. ACORN claims that it will no longer advise new clients while it performs an internal audit of procedures.

On the one hand this is a huge win for Andrew Breitbart, Fox News, and the citizen-journalists who produced these videos. On the other hand, it is nothing permanent and will likely create no permanent changes to the organization.

You cannot trust the criminals to audit themselves. Like Michael Corleone, the leaders of ACORN are publicly taking the baptismal vows denying Satan and all his works while their organization continues to operate illicit schemes.

This type of corruption requires a congressional investigation and legal action. We must know which politicians are tied in with ACORN. How does the money move through the organization? How is ACORN connected with SEIU? What other illicit activities are tax payers funding through this organization?

Flowchart: Understanding the Liberal Mind

I created this flow chart to help you understand how your liberal friends reach the conclusions they do when faced with major news stories. I hope it helps, if just a bit.

A Great Picture from the 9-12 Rally in Washington

Thanks to iowntheworld.com for bringing us this.

"Mr.Pinko has obtained an exclusive from the Photographer Michael A. Beck and FreedomWorks.org. Pinko sat on this image for days before just now getting the green light to publish.
This is a RARE photo of the 9/12 Rally taken in extreme High Resolution from atop the Capitol Building. Mr. [Michael] Beck was personally escorted to this rare vantage point by a congressman who will remain anonymous. This panoramic view offers the viewer documentation of the epic scale of this peaceful demonstration of democracy in action."

Click for the full sized photo.

ACORN Worker: "I was just joking about killing my husband, beating underage prostitutes, covering up international sex rings, and laundering money."

The ACORN worker in the video released yesterday, Theresa Kaelke (better known as Tresa M Parten or Tresa Berhow)now claims that she was just playing along with the gag.

I'm sure "I was only kidding" is going to hold up in court.

From the San Bernadino County Sun:
"The woman, identified on the video as Tresa Kaelke, appears on posted footage to be interested in cooperating the plan. However, California ACORN head organizer Amy Schur said the video is a gross misrepresentation of what actually happened.

'In this video, there are two actors who come into our office and who were messing with us. And our employee was messing with them,' Schur said.

She said that the complete and unedited video needs to be released to the public.

Schur said that in a moment not shown on the edited video, Kaelke asked the undercover 'pimp' if he was joking and then proceeded to play along with the joke."

As I see it, several problems exist with Ms. Schur's explanation

1) If Kaelke was "just messing with" the "actors," that would imply that she knew they were actors. There is little indication that she knew they were not completely serious about carrying out the plans they described. The only possible indication is that she didn't call the cops, but her affiliation with ACORN and the reactions of the workers in the previous videos make this shaky evidence at best.

2) From the video I've seen there is no hint of sarcasm in her voice when she describes the horrific plans to cover up the international sex ring and funnel money to a political campaign. Besides is there anything funnier than beating up little girls and using them for sex. I mean to people other than David Letterman?

3) Schur claims that Kaelke asked if the "pimp" and "prostitute" were joking "then proceeded to play along with the joke." When she asked if they were joking, one can assume that they said "no" considering saying "yes" would blow the whole undercover thing pretty quickly. So when they said "no" why would she continue to play along with a joke that wasn't a joke to her knowledge?

4) Amy Schur demands that a full length video be released claiming that this is a product of careful editing. Well she has her wish. FOX posted the full video on their website yesterday.

ACORN is scrounging to get away from this story, but it keeps nailing them at every turn. Each day has brought a little bit more to light.

ACORN Video Number Four; This One Drops a Train on ACORN and Several Government Officials

I promise you will watch this video with your mouth agape from start to finish. We've almost gotten used to ACORN condoning tax fraud, prostitution, money laundering, illegal immigration, and underage sex rings.

Now they throw murder and threats of violence into the mix.

Don't miss the part where the ACORN worker lists people whose names you probably recognize.

The ACORN worker connects these names with corruption having obtained their finances from "bootlegging and prostitution."
President Barack Obama
The Kennedy's (No surprise here. Teddy served 4 decades after he killed a girl." And Joseph Kennedy was a known bootlegger who used his political power to make millions of dollars in whiskey trade as prohibition ended and the Kennedy family still receives a portion of the duty levied on Scotch imports.

Who are these people who she claims she speaks with "every day?"
Gloria Negrete McLeod, 32nd District
She mentions the name "Torres." Could this be Norma J. Torres of the 61st District?
Wilmer Amina Carter, Assemblywoman, 62nd District
Rep. Joe Baca, 43rd District (D-CA)
Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA)

Yet Another ACORN Video Will be Released Later Today

According to Glenn Beck this morning and Ed Morrissey at HotAir.com yet another video will be released via BigGovernment.com at 4:00 pm today. I'll post a link once the video is available online.

From Ed Morrissey:
"Big Government plans to release another video this afternoon at 4 pm ET, apparently taken at an ACORN office in Southern California. According to Twitter chatter, this one has some politicians named, as well as a surprising admission from the ACORN staffer on tape."

Ed says "Southern California" but, the actual location of this video is specifically San Bernadino, California.

This makes four videos in as many work days. How deep does this rabbit hole go? Perhaps the better question is how high does it reach? Congress? The White House?

I'm sure they'd be happy to hear from you if you have any questions.

Holy $%@& Video of ANOTHER ACORN Office

They've already shown the depraved nature and illegal activities at ACORN offices in Baltimore and Washington, DC. This time they're in New York.

How many offices do they have to visit before it becomes undeniably systemic? Andrew Breitbart might have the answer but the rest of us just have to wait and see.

All I know is that I heard Hanna (the person playing the prostitute) in an interview say she spent all of her savings making these. So the question is how many cities does a 20-year-old have to visit in order to exhaust her life savings? Breitbart probably knows the answer to that too.

Where Was the Freak-out as 9-12 Protests Approached Inauguration Numbers

On Saturday the 9-12 protests drew 1-2 million people to the nation's capital. The numbers have been debated, but I think this video shows the massive volume of people in DC that day.

I understand the Tea Party numbers were unexpected (organizers expected 200,000 to be the upper limit), but a problem in reporting remains.

When 1.5 million people came to see Barack Obama's inauguration, the media broadcast their concerns for weeks leading up to the event. Was the DC transit system up to the task? Where will they all sleep, eat and relieve themselves?

I understand the logistics of a week long inaugural celebration are different than a protest march, but could it be that the concerns over civil engineering surrounding the inauguration were overstated?

Then again, maybe not. Compare these photos from "CLEAN Conservatives vs FILTHY Liberals-- A Photographic Essay" (Via Gateway Pundit)

Pictures from 9-12 Rally in Ft. Worth, Texas

A few drops of rain weren't enough to keep tea-party-ers away in Fort Worth, Texas. There was a great crowd, but I don't have any official numbers yet. I would guess in the range of 4,000, but I'm probably wrong.

Here are some photos I took at the event.

A large crowd showed up in the rain.

John Galt is always prominent at Tea Parties.

Glenn Beck, on the other hand, is a new addition.

"You can't fix stupid, but you can vote it out."

Proof only old rich white men attend Tea Parties. I call "Photoshop."

More crowds in the rain.

Another Tea-tastic Day of Protests

Millions of freedom-loving people gathered nationwide today to voice their opposition to the increasing government interference into their lives. While the numbers are still debated, there is little doubt today's tea parties involved a significant number of people.

(Via Michelle)

Personally, I attended the rally in Ft. Worth, Texas and we had a great turn out. My armature estimate would guess in the range of 4,000 people. Granted it could be more or less, but it was a great group of people for sure. I'll get some pictures and videos up later. I'm going to try and include the video of the featured guest Judge Andrew Napolitano, Fox News' senior judicial analyst.

Anyway stay strong. You will be attacked over the next few days about being old, rich, white racists. When the other side throws their false ad hominem attacks at you, remember they are firing from a position of weakness. I say bring it on. In the end the side of liberty will win out.

Poor ACORN. No Census for You!

Someone at the White House has been watching Fox News or reading conservative blogs about the ACORN videos that have surfaced over the last two days (See them here and here.) On Friday, Census Director Robert Groves sent a letter to the President of ACORN Maude Hurd informing her that ACORN would no longer play any role in the 2010 census.

The letter reads:

September 11, 2009

Ms. Maude Hurd

739 8th St SE

Washington, DC 20003

Dear Ms. Hurd:

The goal of the U.S. Census Bureau's partnership program is to combine the strengths of state, local, and tribal governments, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, schools, media, businesses and others to ensure an accurate 2010 Census. While not (sic) Census bureau employees, partners are advocates for census cooperation and participation. They serve a trusted voices within their communities and are critical to our strategy to count everyone once, only once, and in the right place.

The Census Bureau has established criteria for partnerships, which are listed on our Web site at , and reserves the right to decline partnership or to terminate an existing partnership agreement with any group that 1) may create a negative connotation for the Census Bureau; 2) could distract from the Census Bureau's mission; or, 3) may make people fearful of participating in the census.

To that end, and in keeping with the standards we shared with your organization and others who volunteered to partner with the Census Bureau to help promote the 2010 Census, we are today terminating our Partnership Agreement with ACORN.

Over the last several months, through ongoing communication with our regional offices, it is clear that ACORN's affiliation with the 2010 Census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 Census efforts.

While not decisive factors in this decision, recent events concerning several local offices of ACORN have added to the worsening negative perceptions of ACORN and its affiliation with our partnership efforts.

We do not come to this decision lightly. It was our original assessment that your organization could be helpful in encouraging cooperation with the 2010 Census among individuals who are historically hard to count, including renters, low-income residents, the linguistically isolated, and others. As of today, we have close to 80,000 partnership agreements with national and local groups - many of whom are trusted voices and serve these same populations - and we will be relying upon those groups to continue our outreach in the communities you serve. The full participation of those populations remains of utmost importance to us.

Unfortunately, we no longer have confidence that our national partnership agreement is being effectively managed through your many local offices. For the reasons stated, we therefore have decided to terminate the partnership.

Robert M. Groves

I believe the take-away quote paragraph from the letter is this:

"While not decisive factors in this decision, recent events concerning several local offices of ACORN have added to the worsening negative perceptions of ACORN and its affiliation with our partnership efforts."

Translation: "We've been forced to rely on citizen journalists to inform us of what most of America already instinctively knew. Namely, that ACORN is one jacked-up organization that needs to stay the hell away from the census."

Mr. Groves' words were more professional than my translation, but I'm not entirely convinced professionalism is in order when the nation has witnessed this organization happily shield an international underage prostitution ring. Twice.

It Only Takes Two Words to Steer the Health Care Debate

Whether it's a brilliant rhetorical move or merely evidence of Obama's weakness when dealing with critics, two words have now twice thrust the health care debate into new directions.

Two words have once again shaped the landscape of the health care debate. Sarah Palin introduced the first two words with her Facebook note that spoke of the "death panels." This August 7 posting became a talking point for the month of August and was repeated at town halls nationwide. The death panels remain part of the discussion as late as Obama's speech to a joint session of congress as evidenced by the President's personal attacks against the now-private citizen, Sarah Palin.

In a serendipitous flow of events, immediately following his attack on Sarah Palin, President Obama defended against the charge that his health bill would provide health care for illegal aliens. This comment sparked the next two-word phrase that would direct the debate. Rep. Joe Wilson (D-SC) cried out "You lie!" with that the President's 6,000 word speech was commandeered by Rep. Wilson's two-word retort.

Be it "death panels" or "you lie," the health care discussion is easily swayed. Keep it up ladies and gentlemen. We've got these Democrats on the ropes.

Oh My! They Did it Again? Another ACORN Office Caught on Tape!

The second video in as many days revealing ACORN to be heartless promoters of underage prostitution. This time they're in Washington DC. Glenn Beck and Andrew Breitbart is blowing the doors open on this.

Yesterday ACORN fired two employees. Could it be ACORN's problems are more systemic than they are willing to admit?

At least this time they've given the prostitute a more respectable job description. She's a "consultant" in DC whereas she was only an "independent artist" in Baltimore.

Remembering September 11th + 2922

Two thousand twenty-two days have passed since the morning that changed the world. Were you to read one name per day, you would still be reading the list of the names of the people who lost their lives.

Every year, it seems, the memory of that day fades a little more in my mind. Yet every year, I feel compelled to tell my story of the September 11 attacks.

I woke up listening to the alarm radio as I usually do. Some pop song was playing on the local Dallas top 40 station as I slowly allowed my eyes adjust to the light streaming into my apartment window. My wife was in the restroom going through her morning ritual preparing for class. We were both attending classes at our university at the time, but our classes wouldn't begin for another hour or so.

After the song ended, local radio host Kidd Kraddick, (I don't know why I remember this), came on the air and said, "We didn't want to alarm anyone, but we have received word that a plane has crashed into a building in New York City."

Jumping out of bed, I yelled to my wife, "Turn on the TV. A plane crashed into a building."

She came rushing from the bathroom and asked what I thought was a crazy question at the time, "Was it an accident?"

"Of course it was an accident," I said.

When we turned on the television we saw this:

The image was at such an angle that I could only see what I thought was one building and a plane slamming into the side of the building. Questions flashed across my mind.

They have a video of the plane hitting the building? Why are they replaying it? How come the building is already on fire before the plane even hit it?

Then they showed it from a different angle.

Wait... a second plane hit another building? "Good God, we're being attacked!"

I know my wife and I must have been talking to each other, but the only thing I recall saying to her is, "What about all those people? Those buildings must be full of people. How will they get down?"

Moments later reports came in of rumbling at the Pentagon. When they showed the picture of the Pentagon, there was no doubt, this was not just an attack. We were at war.

I ran to the phone to call my mother who is a teacher and was already beginning her class for the day. I said, "Are you watching TV?"

"No... I'm teaching. What's up?"

"Mom, two planes have crashed into the World Trade Center towers in New York. And mom," I began to choke up, "mom... they have also hit the Pentagon."

The rest of the conversation is completely lost to my mind.

We knew we needed to get to class because we were not sure whether classes were canceled or what the plan was, so my wife and I gathered our supplies.

As we walked toward the door, the unthinkable happened. One of the towers fell.

We were drawn back to the television, but we had to leave for class. So we turned on our radios and listened to everything that was happening. I learned of the second collapse while listening to Gary McNamara on WBAP who was filling in for the normal morning radio host, Mark Davis. I believe Mark was on vacation at the time in Mexico and would later find himself stranded there due to the FAA grounding all air traffic.

When I arrived home from school, I called my boss to see if I needed to come into work that afternoon. I was working at DFW airport at the time, and hoped that he would say to stay put. He did not.

So I drove to one of the nation's busiest airports on the afternoon of September 11, 2001 and did not see one single plane in flight. When I arrived I found literally thousands of people stranded at the airport, most of them in clusters around television sets trying to get more information about the day's events.

Remarkably there were people who had been in meetings all day long and had not heard what had happened. I recall one businessman saying to a coworker that he needed to run catch his flight, and I had the responsibility to tell them that all the air traffic in the nation was grounded and directed them to a television set.

The events of September 11th were geographically distant from my home in Dallas, Texas, but we were all impacted by them. A few weeks after the attacks I lost my job because people no longer wanted to have their meetings in an airport.

The attacks impacted me much more deeply than just the loss of a job. For years after the attacks, I still never went a day without thinking about those towers burning or the people falling. Even today, eight years later, I still look at low-flying airplanes and think, what if that's the next one? Every time I go to downtown Dallas, I look at the buildings and imagine how tall the World Trade Center towers were and think about all the people they held.

Life after September 11th will never be the same. In many ways, I guess, life shouldn't be the same.

Glenn Beck Speaks Out Against ACORN and the Media

There goes Glenn again talking crazy talk. Nothing he ever said amounted to anything anyway, right Van Jones?

Yesterday Beck revealed this video to us along with Andrew Breitbart.

I hope ACORN goes down for this. I hope the whole country turns against this foul organization. An organization like this is a cancer to our country.

And yet, as of 2:35 this morning, only FoxNews.com and CNN.com have this as a top story about this on their homepages. (Click for bigger versions.)

ABC feels it fits just beneath "Cell Phone Radiation: 10 Best and Worst." And FAR below "Cannonball Beats Recession," which sounds more like a funky version of Rock Paper Scissors than an actual headline. Wow.

MSNBC believes the story has the significance of "We must rethink Obesity" and "Runner has male and female sex organs." Unbelievable.

Where are you MSNBC? Still waiting in the back room of the Oval office in a little blue dress, no doubt.

Shocking Video: ACORN Advises Undercover Pimp and Prostitute on Setting Up an International Underage Prostitution Ring

This is the video that Glenn Beck was talking about this morning which shows an ACORN representative giving tax advice to a man and woman posing as a pimp and a prostitute, I mean "independent artist."

You've just gotta watch this whole thing to get the full impact.

The ACORN representative also helps them cover up the introduction of fictitious 13-year-old girls from El Salvador to serve as prostitutes. The ACORN worker asks "Why do you even want to file taxes on them?" And "You don't have to file taxes on them" since they are underage and illegal. Then after thinking about it a bit, she decides they could be claimed as "dependents."

Then there's this gem of tax advice: "If they're making money and they're underage you shouldn't be letting nobody know anyway."

In the second video the worker gives the prostitute tips on how to avoid the government from looking into their "business" operations. You know... the international prostitution ring business they set up with the help of ACORN.

Congressman Yells "You Lie!" During the Annointed One's Speech

(Via: Gateway Pundit)

The congressman was Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) who made the outburst. While I feel situations like this expect a certain propriety, it is difficult to ask the Republicans to sit on their hands as the leader of the free world blatantly and knowingly lies to the American people.

Civility has always been stationed firmly in the Republican corner, and after a month of bludgeoning from the Democratic leadership, this type of running commentary is probably not that out of line as one man seeks to take control of one-sixth of the economy.

Plain and simple, Republicans have never been good at playing hard ball, and I'm glad to see them stepping up.

Jim Treacher tweeted it best:Which is more disrespectful, lying to the world for an hour or pointing it out for one second?

Update: Jake Tapper reports via twitter so @RepJoeWilson [Sic. @CongJoeWilson] issued a statement: "This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement,...""

Van Jones Resigns!

Someone said the racist communist in the White House resigned. I was disappointed to discover it was only Van Jones.

After a barrage of negative information arising concerning Barack Obama's "Green Jobs Czar Van Jones," the pressure simply overwhelmed the man and presumably the administration.

Moments after midnight on September 6, 2009, Van Jones resigned from his position at the Obama White House. Announcing the resignation late on a Saturday night during a nation-wide 4-day weekend smacks of the type of transparency we've come to expect from this administration.

Congratulations, America. There is one less communist in the White House to worry about. You can thank Glenn Beck later.

Town Hall Protester: "You want my money? Come and take it!"

In my home state of Texas, the phrase "Come and Take It" holds a special meaning to us.

Blogger Keri Carender did not have the same connotations in mind when she said, "Come and take it" to Rep. Norm Dicks (D-WA), but the words come across as sweet as ever to this Texan's ears. No, she used the phrase to mean "You want my money so bad to pay for ObamaCare? Don't send your IRS goons after me. Why don't you grow a pair and come take it yourself."

Needless to say, he declined.

Her retort? "You do it EVERY DAY." Brilliant.

Student Who Yelled at Steele: "I Want Government Health Care... and Anarchy!"

Steele handled the disruption to his talk at Howard University quite well. A white student named Amanda Duzak stood up and started shouting at the black Michael Steele.

It's hard to hear in the video, but she is saying something about her mother passing away six months ago of cancer due to her mother's inability to purchase the prescription medicine to treat her cancer.

In his lengthy response, Steele implies that she's mostly concerned with getting on TV. Mere days later, she was on MSNBC recounting her interaction with Steele.

Riehl World View has already learned a lot about this environmental activist, Amanda Duzak.

Okay, so we get it. Another college student who's majoring in Environmental Policy and Political Science at Towson University wants socialized medicine. No shock there.

But I do have one question. How good would your mother's health care have been if we had been operating under anarchy, Amanda?

(via Amanda Duzak's MySpace)

So which is it Amanda? Total government control of people's lives or no government whatsoever?

The WWF is Right - We Should Seek and Destroy Mother Nature

When this ad ran one time in Brazil in December of 2008, the World Wildlife Federation was rightly outraged (after they approved the ad) and requested that the ad agency, DDB Brasil, stop running the ad.

Then this video shows up.

The ad agency swears they had nothing to do with it. "A DDB Brasil spokesperson in Sao Paulo said a video version of the ad being circulated on the internet was not done or authorized by the agency or the client. She said DDB execs first saw the video, which features slightly different copy, on the internet and don't know who created it. "

So if mother nature killing 100 times as many people as the 9/11 terrorists means we're supposed to respect and conserve the planet, wouldn't the converse be true? That we should respect and conserve terrorism? The ad just doesn't even make sense.

Seems to me the solution is to find this Mother Earth character and take her out like we would Osama bin Laden.

See? The logic of the ad is baffling at best.

A Guide to Preparing Your Child for Obama's Sept. 8 Address to School Children

President Obama will deliver an address to the nation's public school children on September 8. Details of the speech are not yet available, but the Department of Education has released some suggested classroom activities around the address that your kid's teacher may use in his or her classroom.

So I thought that since Obama wants the kids to be ready to listen to him, they should also be prepared to respond to him as well.

Who is the President of the United States?
Answer: Barack Hussein Obama

What do you think it takes to be President?
Answer: A long-form birth certificate. A winning smile, pretty words, a willing press, and a populace that votes for people based on how "cool" they are. Also, a wife whose arms are capable of beating nay-sayers into submission.

To whom do you think the President is going to be speaking?
Answer: Future voters.

Why do you think he wants to speak to you?
Answer: Because his approval ratings are in the tank, his health bill is failing, and Vice President Biden probably wanted to address the schools, but the White House figured this was a safer alternative.

What do you think he will say to you?
Answer: I think he will say that you can do anything you set your mind to. For example, Obama has achieved something no American has ever accomplished: he visited all 57 states in the country.

Teachers can ask students to imagine being the President delivering a speech to all of the students in the United States. What would you tell students? What can students do to help in our schools? Teachers can chart ideas about what they would say.
Answer: I would tell students to put down the weed, get a haircut, take a shower, and get a job. Especially students at Berkley.

Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?
Answer: If we don't pay attention to what they say, we might reach adulthood without ever hearing a lie, and that's just not a good upbringing. We should be able to recognize a lie when we hear one.

As the President speaks, teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful.
Start with the words "hope" and "change" written at the top of the page. You might also consider writing the words "Bush" and "previous administration" as these are also common themes in most of Obama's speeches.

Students could use a note‐taking graphic organizer such as a Cluster Web,
.. or a teleprompter

or students could record their thoughts on sticky notes. Younger children can draw pictures and write as appropriate.
Kids should practice drawing this at home before the President's speech

As students listen to the speech, they could think about the following:
What is the President trying to tell me?
Answer: He seems to be saying that our health care system is broken and only the hem of his robe will save us in the future.

What is the President asking me to do?
Answer: Turn in my neighbors, parents and friends who disagree with him.

What new ideas and actions is the President challenging me to think about?
Answer: Well, it's not really a new idea, but it sounds like he's asking me to embrace socialism. Or worse, befriend his hippie followers.

So there it is! I hope this helps you and your student prepare to hear from the president next week!

Video: The Obama Deficit
